With a presentation on Damietta methanol plant, Techint E&C took part in the International Methanol Technology Operators Forum (IMTOF) in London, from 8 to 10 June.
The Forum is organized every two years by Johnson Matthey, licensee of the JM Davy methanol production technology used by Techint E&C at the Damietta methanol plant in Egypt, which is now performing far beyond expectations, to the great satisfaction of the customer, E-Methanex.
IMTOF offered the industry’s leading players an opportunity to discuss the latest technological innovations to build plants with lower production costs or to improve the yield of existing facilities. The majority of presentations were from plant operators, who illustrated the production issues they encountered and the solutions taken to resolve them.
The paper presented by Techint E&C looked specifically at the issues involved in the commissioning and warranty phases of one of the milestones in the history of Techint E&C, a plant that is still one of the world’s largest methanol production facilities today.
